Measurement Range
Perhaps one of the most important factors to consider when choosing between several golf rangefinders is the maximum measurement range. Usually, the farther, the better, as being able to determine the distances to further objects will give you a better edge in your analysis of the game. Leupold GX1 has a maximum measurement range of 750 yards, while Bushnell Tour V2 is able to measure up to 1,000 yards.

While Bushnell Tour V2 is able to measure longer distances than Leupold GX1, it somehow has an inferior performance compared to the contender. Bushnell Tour V2 is only able to lock to the flag up to 300 yards away. Even so, it starts to struggle a lot at 225 yards, having some delay before locking and sometimes missing the flag, locking to the trees behind instead. As a comparison, Leupold GX1 can tolerate being slightly further away from the flag, up to 350 yards away. Leupold GX1 still works well at 250 yards, and is still reliable at the high 200s thanks to the combination of “panning” and “Pinhunter” in a single mode, allowing the user to receive constantly updated distances.

Even though Bushnell Tour V2 is more expensive than Leupold GX1, both products actually are limited in features. Nevertheless, Leupold GX1 comes with a respectable six-times maximum magnification, a strong feature that is also present in higher and newer models. Bushnell Tour V2 can only provide a maximum magnification of five-times.

Both products are pleasantly weatherproof, so you don’t have to worry about getting wet under a bad weather. Leupold GX1 has a Fog Mode while Bushnell Tour V2 has a Rain Mode, a similar feature in different names. Additionally, Leupold GX1 has seven selectable aiming reticles, so you can use the one that is the most comfortable to you.
